MVS women Kara Haas, Crystal Anthony, Julie Hanover, Madelyn Steeves, and Melissa Donais took second place in the women’s team division of the Topsfield Cross Country Festival on Sunday. This race was part of the USATF Grand Prix cross country series. Haas won the race in a strong 18:40 on a challenging course, despite taking a wrong turn in the early stages of the race. She edged out former Princeton track star and All American Emily Kroshus (18:41) in what was the closest finish in meet history. Following in Kara’s footsteps were Donais (19:16), Anthony (19:24), Hanover (21:16), and Steeves (22:29). The Greater Boston Track Club hosted the race and won the women’s team division.
