This program is a great way to get ready for the Thanksgiving Day race wherever you may be with your running. Participants can improve from week to week by staying consistent and getting at least 3 workouts in a week for at least 30 minutes per workout. You will be provided with workouts to be done independently.
Training takes place at Shawsheen Square – Andover,MA. Training is coached and supported by Merrimack Valley Strider volunteers. Training begins on October 1 on Sunday mornings at 8 AM for eight weeks preceding Thanksgiving Day and the Feaster Five.
You don’t have to be a MVS member to participate to participate in this running program. This is our eighth year providing this program and we use your feedback to make it better.
How it Works
·We meet the eight Sundays prior to the Feaster Five at the race start.
·We break into groups (walkers, walk/runners, runners) to make sure everyone has the right support.
·We start with group warmups and running tips each week.
·We progress each week to further distances and more running than walking.
Who is This For?
·Anyone who can walk and is looking for support and inspiration (from 8 to 98!)
·Active runners looking to improve
·Volunteers looking to earn one point for MVS Super Iron Runner Series
·You will get fitter.
