Find FIVE running friends. Choose a cool name for your team, you know, something apolitical like "OK, BOOMER". Figure out which leg of the race you will run. Pick the coldest day in December. Pile your team into a car and prepare to run 27 miles thru SIX cities and TWO states. Cross the Merrimack River several times. If you're lucky, you end up sipping a beer at the Claddagh Pub in Lawrence and sharing pasta with friends. If you're good, you take home a BRICK !

Lots of local Merrimack Valley runners kicked off the New Year festivities by running in a 5K/10K race.

Striders had the option of running in the Lowell First Run or the Hangover Classic in Salisbury to earn a point in the Super Iron Runner Series.
