Lowell First Run 5K/10K - First Iron Runner Series Race

On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, the 11th annual Lowell 1ST Run 5K/10K was the kick-off race for the first race in the MVS 2020 Super Iron Runner Series.  More runners, 935 in total, chose the 5K while 494 runners chose the 10K, to celebrate the New Year.

Lowell First Run 
Striders showed up in force for yet another Super Iron Runner Series race. Runners picked up their bibs at the spacious Elks Lodge hall.  The skies were clear and blue with a light wind whipping off the Merrimack River. There's no tee shirt but a warm winter hat and gloves were handed out and every finisher received a beautiful medal.


DOUBLE DEE - Denise and Diane

Denise and Dianne model their favorite Strider gear. White is bright whether you choose sleeveless or long sleeve.  Dianne Jannetti went on to finish 3rd in her AG for the 5K in a time of 28:47.




Alex Smirnou was the first Strider to cross the finish line in the 5K race with a time of 23:36 and finishing 52nd overall in the 5K.



The Pelletier family runs together. Mike, Chad, Wendy and Joshua show off their finisher medals and race beanie hat. Josh was the first Strider to cross the finish line in the 10K race with a time of 47:41 and finished 52nd overall and 3rd in his AG for the 10K.

Other division winners include: Louise Cummings finished 3rd in her AG for the 10K with a time of 56:30, Jeff Burgess finished 3rd in his AG for the 5K with a time of 26:15
